The organizers of the Deaf LGBTQI and Allies Awards Ceremony will be hosting their 7th annual event this Saturday, September 9, 2017, from 7 - 10:45 PM,

Event purpose

Deaf LGBTQI and Allies Awards Ceremony was founded 7 years ago with zero budget in the home of one of the co-founders. It was inspired by an idea based on experience that there was no safe space for Deaf LGBTQI and friends to be - the group committed to establishing a safe space.

In the first year, 25 people attended and the number grows each year. The 6th annual award had over 130 participants.

This event continues because every year people share that it saved their life and/or gave them the courage to come out. People also say it gives them a space that is safe, nurturing, and loving. People can be who they are.

Resources are shared at this event, which helps community members know where they can go to get support.

Come and join this magical event.
