Minnesota Deaf Heritage
In 1997, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Metro Division (DHHSD) recorded the stories of 14 prominent deaf Minnesotans. In 2011, the Commission remastered these invaluable recordings.
In these interviews, you will get a special look into the personal lives of these advocates. Their stories are filled with moments of hardship but also triumph and humor. They also discuss their work to advocate for and with the deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing communities in Minnesota.
Originally produced by Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Metro Division (DHHSD), and remastered by ZenMation for the Minnesota Commission of the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing.
We thank DHHSD for generously donating these valuable materials to the Oral-Visual History Project.
