File Submission
The ASAP 4.2 standard requires a pharmacy to select an indicator in the DSP01 (Reporting Status) field. These indicators allow you to submit new records, revise and resubmit records, and void (delete) erroneous records. These actions are indicated by supplying one of the following values in the DSP01 field:
- DSP01 = 00 - NEW record submission
- DSP01 = 01 - REVISE or make a correction to a record
- DSP01 = 02 - VOID or delete a record
IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding Voiding:
The prescription number, fill date, pharmacy DEA, quantity, and refill number must be identical to the prescription the pharmacy is attempting to void, for the void to be successful.
If the pharmacy chooses to void and resubmit an erroneous record, pharmacy must wait approximately 24 hours after submitting the void record prior to submitting a new record. (If the void has not yet processed, the new record will be recognized as a duplicate and not digested.)
