Aaron Sepulveda brings extensive experience as a policy analyst and advocate, driven to use policy to support fairer outcomes for underserved communities. He is particularly focused on using data-informed and community-centered practices to close achievement gaps among Latino populations.
Before joining MCLA, Aaron advised Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on policies related to local governments and immigration, evaluating resource availability and service reliability across counties, municipalities, and school districts. He also worked at the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, where he identified policies to improve employment outcomes for formerly incarcerated individuals by promoting access to postsecondary education, technical training, and apprenticeships.
Aaron previously served as a Policy Fellow for the Council in 2020 and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo, West Africa. He holds a Master’s of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Aaron’s roots trace back to Puerto Rico, and he is a proud new father.
