It is with gratitude and humility that we thank our outgoing Board Chair and longtime Board member Bryan Thao Worra. Representing Minnesota's Lao community, Mr. Thao Worra has been with the Council since 2018, providing priceless insight and a gentle approach during some of the Council's most challenging years. Although we will miss Mr. Thao Worra and his steadfast leadership, we are excited to welcome our new Board Chair Shwetha Vijayakumar. While we recognize our new Chair is stepping in during a time of unprecedented challenges for our community and our state, we are fortunate to be guided by someone as skilled and determined as Ms. Vijayakumar. She is joined by three other new appointees to the Council's Executive Committee: Poh Lin Khoo in the role of Vice Chair, Shayna Karuman in the role of Treasurer, and Senator Eric Pratt as the legislative appointee to the Executive Committee.
