About the Thai Minnesotan community:
The Thai community in Minnesota is estimated at 4,859 people. Though a modest slice of the state's diverse population, the Thai community is vibrant and organized, anchored by established nonprofits, cultural institutions, temples, and festivals. Together, they preserve language, art, food, and spirituality while sharing a welcoming space for both Thai Americans and broader communities to connect with Thai heritage. Thai New Year, or Songkran, celebrated each May at the Minnesota State Capitol, is the largest Songkran festival in the nation.
