About the Hmong Minnesotan community:
The Twin Cities metropolitan area is home to the largest concentration of Hmong in the United States. With a state population of more than 66,000, the first Hmong arrived in the state in 1975 after the fall of Saigon signaling the end of the Vietnam War. The Hmong are an ethnic group that defy geographic boundaries—communities have historically existed in southwest China, Laos, Thailand, and other neighboring countries.
