Council Announces Departure of Anjuli Cameron

6/17/2023 9:27:59 AM

It is with bittersweet sentiments that the Council shares the news of the departure of Anjuli Cameron, the Council’s research director for the past seven and a half years. Many in our community have worked closely with Anjuli, and know that her thoughtful and careful approach to the Council’s mission, research expertise, and breath and depth of knowledge about our communities have been invaluable to the Council and our communities as we have carried out our work. Anjuli’s ability to understand the state of our communities through the latest data has been invaluable, not just to the Council but also to many of our community-based organizations and other state agencies that have sought to serve the diverse population of Asian Pacific Minnesotans.

Some of the projects Anjuli worked closely with community members and leaders on included the Asian Pacific Islander Complete Count Committee, the Violence Against Asian Women and Children Working Group, and many legislative initiatives at the Capitol. These are just a few examples of the ways Anjuli consistently worked with our Asian Pacific communities to make Minnesota a better state.

While we will miss Anjuli in her capacity as research director at the Council, she will remain a close partner as she is moving on to become the new chief executive officer of SEWA-AIFW. Our nonprofit partners have been critical to our Council’s ability to deliver on our statutory duties, and in this regard, we look forward to continuing our close partnership with SEWA under Anjuli's leadership.

While this may be the end of Anjuli’s time with the Council, we hope you join us in considering it a new beginning of a continued partnership supporting our communities.
