2018 ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDERS (API) DAY AT THE CAPITOL
On April 12, 2018, the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (“the Council”) will hold its annual Asian Pacific Islander Day at the Capitol with the theme of “Our Youth, Our Future.”
The 2018 API Day will begin with a rally in the Rotunda at 9:30 AM, followed by legislative visits. The rally program will feature four Asian American and Pacific Islander students who will speak to their experiences, hopes, and dreams.
Confirmed legislative speakers for the event include Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, Senator Hawj, and Represenative Fue Lee.
Asian Pacific Islander Day at the Capitol is an annual Council event designed to encourage Minesotans of Asian and Pacific Islander descent to rally together, increase their knowledge of the policy making process, and directly connect with legislators about the issues that matter most to them.
All are strongly encouraged to participate in the 2018 API Day. No previous political or legislative knowledge required.
Event Date and Time: Thursday, April 12, 2018 – 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

The Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans, created in 1985, is a state agency that advises the Minnesota Legislature and Governor’s Office on issues pertaining to Minesota’s Asian Pacific communities.
