2017 ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDERS (API) DAY AT THE CAPITOL

On February 8, 2017, the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (“the Council”) will hold its annual Asian Pacific Islander Day at the Capitol with the theme of “Real People, Real Policies.”

The 2017 API Day will begin at 9:00 A.M. with time dedicated to showcasing Asian and Pacific Islander community and student organizations in booths surrounding the Capitol rotunda. At 10:00 A.M., the public rally will begin, followed by legislative visits with legislators at 12:00 P.M., during which attendees share their stories, concerns, and experiences with legislators who are either their district representatives or issue champions.

Confirmed speakers for the event include Senate Majority Leader Gazelka, and the Honorable Judge Nicole Starr.  

Asian Pacific Islander Day at the Capitol is an annual Council event designed to encourage diverse community members to rally together, increase their knowledge of the policy-making process, and directly connect with legislators about the issues that matter most to them.
