Compliance lab sample size for beverage products

The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is updating the required product sampling for the lab test batch for beverage products.

The CTA does not differentiate the required lab sample size for various finished products but requires 0.5% by mass or a minimum listed amount which is 200 mL for beverages. OCM is updating the requirement for beverage products to unit-based lab testing sample sizes based on the overall beverage batch size (see tables below).
Note: All cannabis or hemp products made or sold by license holders must meet the requirements of the CTA. This includes testing all contaminants, potency, homogeneity and stability. If a lower-potency hemp edible (LPHE) manufacturer uses an out-of-state testing facility, the test results must cover all of the testing requirements of the CTA.
This change is effective immediately and will be incorporated into the CTA when it is next revised.
