Online Applications
Applicants for licensure and the temporary permit can now submit their application online by clicking on the Account Login above.
We encourage you to view the applicable Apply page before submitting an application.

CBC Fee Update: 
• As of January 1, 2025 the Criminal Background Check Fee adjusted from $33.25 to $32.00
 
Legislative Session: 
• Counseling Compact - Legislation passed adding Minnesota to the Counseling Compact. The Compact is still in the implementation phase and is not currently issuing privileges to practice in any state. Information about the Compact and updates can be found on the Counseling Compact website. The change is effective August 1, 2024 and can be found in Minnesota Session Laws 2024, Chapter 127, Article 29, Section 1.
• LADC Degree Expansion - Legislation passed expanding the degree requirement for licensed alcohol and drug counselors in Minnesota Statutes section 148F.025, subd. 2(1). The change broadens the degree requirement to a bachelor’s or master’s degree (master’s degree was added). This does not significantly change the requirements and those with a bachelor’s degree will still qualify for licensure. The change is effective August 1, 2024 and can be found in Minnesota Session Laws 2024, Chapter 108, Article 4, Section 1.
