Linda Giersdorf

1st Congressional District
Second term appointment: 1/7/25-1/1/29
Committee assignments: Executive Committee, Program Operations Committee

Linda is serving her second term on the Board. She is co-chair of the Program Operations Committee and previously served as co-chair of the DEIA Committee. For 35 years she worked for an Area Agency on Aging. Because of this experience she brings a unique perspective to the Board.

Linda is a long-time member and current treasurer of the Chesley Center on Aging, located at Minnesota State University - Mankato.  In 2019 she received the Minnesota Social Service Association’s Individual Distinguished Service Award for her years of commitment to health and human services. Having worked in a mostly rural area, she understands the challenges older adults encounter when they must relocate to the "big city” in order to find the supportive services they require.

Growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Minnesota instilled Linda with a love of nature and Guernsey cattle. She is an avid flower gardener and bird watcher, mother of two sons and grandmother of eight beautiful grandchildren.
