Lisa Bahr

Ms. Bahr holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse (RN), Infection Preventionist, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA), and Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD).

Ms. Bahr has an extensive career in long-term care that began as a Certified Nursing Assistant and has progressed through nursing, leadership, and consulting roles. She currently works as a healthcare consultant serving senior service providers throughout Minnesota. Her experience includes nursing operations, survey preparedness and management, fiscal management, quality improvement, infection prevention and control, human resources, and regulatory compliance. She provides consulting services to long-term care and assisted living organizations, including serving interim leadership roles as a Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, Nursing Home Administrator, and Assisted Living Director.

Ms. Bahr previously served on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Directors of Nursing Administration as the District IV Representative. She has also volunteered internationally as an RN Recovery Nurse with HELPS International and currently serves as a volunteer with the Minnesota Responds Medical Reserve Corps.

Through her professional and volunteer experiences, Ms. Bahr has developed knowledge of housing, financing, healthcare delivery systems, Medicaid, Medicare, and Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). She is committed to supporting policies and programs that promote quality of life, independence, health equity, and access to services for older adults throughout Minnesota.

Ms. Bahr brings practical frontline, clinical, operational, and leadership experience to the Minnesota Board on Aging. She hopes to contribute by providing insight into the challenges and opportunities facing older adults, caregivers, and service providers while helping advance person-centered, accessible, and high-quality aging services across the state.
