Shannon Geshick is a citizen of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa in Northern Minnesota. She is a mother and grandmother who grew up mostly in the Twin Cities. She is the chair and one of the founding members of the Roseville Indian Education parent committee and served as the chair of the St Paul Indian Ed parent committee previously. Shannon is an alumna of the Parent Leadership for Child Safety and Permanency cohort III and recipient of the 2017 Minnesota Indian Education Association Parent of the Year award.
While earning degrees in Business Management and Hospitality & Sports Management Shannon was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and the All Minnesota Academic Team. Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies with a focus on Indigenous issues at Metropolitan State University and her Master’s Degree in Tribal Administration and Governance at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Shannon is an urban gardener enthusiast and excels at listening to good jokes. She has worked for the State of Minnesota since 2011.
