MIAC Staff

Established in 1963, the MIAC provides a liaison office to the eleven sovereign tribal nations that share a border with Minnesota and the state government. MIAC's Executive Director advocates for policy changes, is a leader for Council staff, provides administrative support and management and engages with Native communities within Minnesota.

MIAC staff members provide the operational support for the council. Their responsibilities include engagement with Native communities within Minnesota, research and analysis, the protection of all Indian gravesites and burial mounds statewide and administer state funded grants established to preserve Dakota and Ojibwe languages.
