Our Strategic Plan

Delivering safe, high-quality care doesn't happen by accident. Every health care organization needs a sense of direction, a destination in mind, a roadmap to get there, and a way to measure progress along the way. That's where strategic planning comes in.

In Direct Care and Treatment (DCT), we strive for continuous improvement in every aspect of our operations. From providing the safest, most therapeutic care for our patients and clients, to supporting our staff, to maintaining our facilities, to making sure our finances are ship shape, we're always evaluating our operations, setting short-, mid- and long-range goals and laying out plans to make good things happen.

Our robust strategic planning process revolves around five key pillars of excellence:

  • Quality
  • Service
  • People
  • Finance
  • Technology

Planning is not a top-down process at DCT. More than 100 staff at various levels of the organization participate in setting the four-year strategic direction, objectives and strategies in each of the pillars. This helps ensure that leaders throughout DCT are aware of the goals each year and understand the roles that they and all staff play in turning plans into achievements.

Our strategic plan implementation begins with each new state fiscal year (July 1 to June 31) and aligns with our overarching four-year strategic direction.
