Hospital Licensed Dental Assistant Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our growing hospital/surgical services team. This position requires a mix of clinic shifts and hospital shifts. The position includes traveling to hospital settings within the Twin Cities to provide care for patients in the operating room. This is a new exciting opportunity as a Hospital Licensed Dental Assistant! Our team provides patient-centered care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Dental Assistant is a strong team player who treats their patients and teammates with dignity and respect. The Dental Assistant provides optimal dental care for these patients, responding to their needs in a respectful and professional manner. Primary Responsibilities Include: Assist the Dentist and Hygienist with patient treatment in clinic, hospital, and surgical settings. Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures. Assist in performing operating room dental procedures. Assist providers in delivering quality care to patients. Sterilize instruments and infection control procedures. Perform expanded functions including scheduling, client intakes, and filing. Track lab cases to verify the case is sent and delivered prior to delivery appointment. Accurately document treatment information in patient charts. Assist with billing, medical record services, and clerical responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications Active license with the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry as a Dental Assistant. Experience with common oral hygiene techniques and standard dental equipment and methods. Experience taking x-rays, chairside assisting, dental charting, record keeping, and infection prevention. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with special needs population. The Group Supervisor Assistant works in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Therapist Supervisor to manage the programmatic and administrative functions at the Minnesota State Operated Community Services (MSOCS) vocational program in North Mankato, MN. The State of Minnesota has broken ground on a $7.5+ million to build a new 16-bed psychiatric hospital for individuals ages 6 to 18 who have serious behavioral and emotional conditions. The funding is part of a long-term commitment to serving this vulnerable population in a state-of-the art facility and providing exceptional care and treatment to match. With our new facility comes the need for inspired clinical leadership. As a child and adolescent clinical psychologist, you will be deeply involved in the care and treatment of those we serve as well as helping to set the direction and priorities for treatment within a program model that you help to advance. The Group Supervisor Assistant works in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Therapist Supervisor to manage the programmatic and administrative functions at the Minnesota State Operated Community Services (MSOCS) vocational program in Golden Valley, MN. The program offers day support services, employment placement, vocational training, customized employment services and supports for individuals with cognitive/intellectual disabilities or related conditions. This position works primarily weekdays, with occasional evenings and weekends based on the needs of the individuals supported. Also requires regular travel to other DCT program sites, as well as to attend meetings and trainings. The Group Supervisor Assistant is responsible for oversight and coordination of support plans for the individuals supported, supervision of employees, management of fiscal resources, oversight of professional and other services contracts, and maintenance of the physical environment of areas assigned. This position may provide support to Vocational Rehabilitation Services referrals and is responsible for implementing CARF accreditation standards within the program areas. Implementation of Customized Employment approaches and following 245D licensing guidelines is required.
Minimum Qualifications 1 year supervisory experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment; OR 2 years lead work or professional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs. OR 3 years paraprofessional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.
