Martera "Tera" Nelson is a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and is currently employed as a Mental Health Practitioner on the Red Lake Reservation. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Social Work and a Minor in Psychology from the Bemidji State University in 2021. Her social work experience has focused on Chemical Dependency to Child Welfare. Nelson was appointed to the Minnesota Board of Social Work in 2022 and is serving a first term ending January 5, 2026.
