License Renewal Deadlines & Fees

Plan ahead to avoid a late fee or possible unlicensed practice!

  • If a license is not renewed within 60 days of your license expiration date, the license will automatically expire retroactive to your expiration date and you may be subject to an additional fee or disciplinary action if you practice social work with an expired license
  • If you do not renew your license within 60 days of your license expiration date, you may reactivate your license within one year of your license expiration date
  • If you do not reactivate your license within one year of your license expiration date, you will be required to reapply and meet all current requirements for licensure, including a valid ASWB exam score within eight years of the application date
