5-0305-38230 Alan Yelsey, Complainant, v. City of Shorewood, Respondent.

October 17, 2022 - The Respondent did not fail to keep records containing government data in such arrangement and condition as to make them easily accessible for convenient use. Of several requests for data at issue in this matter, the Respondent failed to ensure one request, made November 16, 2021, was complied with in a prompt manner. This failure does not demonstrate, in light of the record, a failure to have appropriate procedures in place. The Respondent did not fail to permit Complainant to inspect and copy public government data at reasonable times and places or inform Complainant of the data’s meaning. It did, however, fail to charge Complainant the actual cost of providing copies when it charged him a per-page rate for documents exceeding 100 pages.
