23-6108-38419- In the Matter of the Potentially Dangerous Dog Determination of Jake
June 17, 2022- Appellant believes that Jake will not be aggressive or dangerous once he is weaned off the steroid medications. Appellant clearly takes great care of Jake, has concerns about Jake’s steroid medications and is weaning him off the steroids.49 The Administrative Law Judge credits this testimony and accepts it as true. Notwithstanding that, there is no dispute that Jake attacked, bit, and injured Ms. Mattison unprovoked, meeting the definition to be declared a potentially dangerous dog. The City’s declaration of Jake was lawful and is upheld. The Administrative Law Judge imposes the conditions listed in the Order above, which are the same conditions in Hastings City Code § 91.30.
