Carrie Briones is DCT's Director of Legislative Relations.
She oversees the development of agency legislative priorities and vision. She represents the administration and act as an expert with the Legislature, Governor’s Office, on panels, in committee hearings, community meetings, and constituents addressing complex policy issues Serve as point of contact for legislative engagement, inquiries, technical assistance, and consultations with DCT’s partners and stakeholders.
She joined DCT in 2021. She has previously worked as a legislative coordinator and staff attorney for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety; an agency policy coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Human Services; Senior Policy Analyst for the Legal and Legislative Unit at the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Child Support Division; and an intergovernmental child support officer at Anoka County.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Life Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stout; a master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville; and a law degree from Hamline University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
