The Minnesota Department of Corrections’ goal is to promote safety in the lives of victims and others who have been impacted by crime and provide effective, supportive and informative advocacy.

After-hours crisis lines
If you are a victim of domestic or sexual violence who is experiencing a crisis and would like to speak immediately to a community based advocate, you may call the Day One Crisis Line at 866-223-1111 or text 612-399-9995.
If you are a victim of other types of crime, you may call the General Crime Crisis Line at 866-385-2699 or text 612-399-9977. Please note that community-based advocates do not have access to information regarding incarcerated offenders. An advocate can assist you with general safety planning and provide referral to other community based resources.
