The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours based on business needs. Employees will receive a shift differential of $2.75 per hour for all hours worked between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am. A correctional health care nurse practices in a primary care setting much like a clinic or transitional care unit. The nurse works closely with other health care providers, including primary care physicians and mid-level practitioners, and ensures that individuals receive needed healthcare in a manner that does not compromise nor conflict with security issues within the correctional facility. These positions assist in the provision of individual health care; assist in the medication process; assist with other functions as delegated by the charge nurse/supervisor; maintain a system for accurate and thorough medical record keeping; provide health education; and maintain adequate inventory and security of medical supplies and equipment.
