This position provides senior-level technical assistance and offers capacity building to agency leaders responsible for ensuring compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant federal and state accessibility laws, policies, and procedures as they apply to Department of Corrections' (DOC) clients. This position provides objective, impartial, and accurate advice to all levels of the organization. This position will also engage directly in and document the accommodation process, coordinate accommodations for incarcerated individuals, participate in facility ADA committee meetings, support facilities and shared management in providing accommodations to clients, track and monitor cases, maintain accurate records, and collect and analyze data for administrative reports. Additionally, this position will support strategic initiatives developed and implemented by Equity, Access and Inclusion Office. This position will also support accessibility requirements within the department. Other responsibilities for the position include offering technical and content expertise on policy and projects related to ADA compliance, building an inclusive agency environment and equitable outcomes for people with disabilities. This position is eligible to telework up to 50% of the time. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Teleworking employees are required to live in Minnesota or a bordering state in a county along the Minnesota state line.
Minimum Qualifications To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Three (3) years of experience working with Title II of the ADA. Note: A Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. The functions assigned to the Payroll Technician are within the DOC Financial Operations, payroll department. This individual is part of the payroll team which consists of functional experts who provide technical and administrative support to employees who work at the DOC ensuring employees accurately record time worked, leave taken, and that they are paid timely and accurately. These positions assist in the provision of individual health care; assist in the medication process; assist with other functions as delegated by the charge nurse/supervisor; maintain a system for accurate and thorough medical record keeping; provide health education; and maintain adequate inventory and security of medical supplies and equipment.
