This position will be filled in either the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) job classification. The classification level (LPN or CMA) in which the position is filled will be determined based on the qualifications of the applicant who is selected for the position. This position is designated as part-time with day/evening rotating shifts including weekend and holiday shifts as assigned. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional hours based on business needs. The LPN/CMA performs duties to assist practitioners and Registered Nurses in providing health care to incarcerated individuals. Responsibilities include: Perform functions related to "rooming" the incarcerated individual for practitioner examinations, including obtaining blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, weight and documenting complaints. Perform phlebotomy functions with incarcerated individuals, including collecting blood and urine samples and performing other tests ordered by the practitioner. Conduct Blood Pressure Clinic and other chronic care clinics with incarcerated individuals. Administer medication as prescribed by the practitioner. Minimum Qualifications To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Licensed Practical Nurse Graduation from an approved school of nursing plus current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse without limitations or restrictions.
