    If you believe that you or someone else has been discriminated against because of race, color, national origin, disability, age or in some cases sex or religion, by an entity receiving financial assistance from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), you or your legal representative may file a complaint with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). 

    Complaints must be filed within 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.

    Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. It is your right to receive appropriate health care services, including access to language interpreter services if needed.
