Are you prepared?

If an emergency were to occur in your county or community, would you know whom to call to get information? Do you know how to contact your local city or county emergency manager?

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has a list of county emergency managers on its website.


Spring flooding

As Minnesotans in some areas prepare for flooding, it is important that people with disabilities take steps to prepare for possible flooding. Being prepared can increase your ability to care for yourself during a disaster. Find information on creating a personal emergency plan at:

Home and community-based residential providers

The health and safety of residents should be the first priority. Providers are responsible to:

  • Ensure processes are in place to protect the safety of all residents and staff
  • Review and update emergency plans
