    January 21, 2016 - Minnesota employers added 9,100 jobs in December, according to seasonally adjusted figures released today by DEED. The state unemployment rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 3.5 percent in December from a revised rate of 3.6 percent in November. The U.S. unemployment rate in December was 5 percent.

In the 2015 program, 115 businesses certified received investments. Among those, 13 were minority-owned, 10 were women-owned, and 13 were headquartered in Greater Minnesota.

    November 18, 2015 - The Minnesota unemployment rate fell 0.1 percent in October to a seasonally adjusted 3.7 percent, according to figures released today by DEED. The U.S. unemployment rate in October was 5 percent.
  • Low Income Worker Training Program Grant Covers Health Care Training Costs for Northwest Minnesotans
    November 17, 2015 - DEED awarded Optivation, a joint venture of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College, a $164,302 grant under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to train 48 lower-income individuals. This Low Income Worker Training Program grant covers the cost of training ‘training-ready’ individuals with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty line.
  • Precision Agriculture Training for Titan Employees Supported by Job Skills Partnership Grant
    November 06, 2015 - DEED has awarded Northland Community and Technical College a $293,378 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant to train 75 employees of Titan Machinery. This training project focuses on employees in northwest Minnesota: Roseau, Crookston, Winger, Ada, Moorhead and Thief River Falls.

  • Three Minnesota Companies Announce Expansions
    October 15, 2015 - Three Minnesota companies have been approved for grants from the Job Creation Fund for expansion projects that will create 45 jobs. The companies are Alexandria Extrusion Co. in Alexandria, Anderson-Crane Co. in Litchfield and P&F Machining Inc. in Otsego. Altogether, the three companies will spend $12.1 million on the expansions.
