  • Hearth & Home Technologies Expanding in Lake City
    May 05, 2016 - Hearth & Home Technologies is adding 37 jobs as part of a $1.45 million expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Lake City. The Lakeville-based maker of fireplace products said it plans to convert 20,000 square feet of warehouse space in Lake City into an engineering lab, offices and testing space.
  • Iowa Startup Corvida Medical Expanding in Eagan
    May 05, 2016 - Medical device startup Corvida Medical is planning a $3.1 million expansion in Minnesota that will include the creation of 17 high-paying jobs. The company, headquartered in Coralville, Iowa, will produce closed-system drug transfer products at a manufacturing facility in Eagan.

    April 28, 2016 - DEED has awarded Alexandria Technical and Community College a $254,094 grant under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to train 405 employees of FAST Global Solutions. The company currently has about 450 employees at their Glenwood and Windom facilities.

    April 21, 2016 - DEED has awarded Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical a $260,000 grant under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to train 194 long-term care employees. Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical will collaborate with long-term care providers, Tweeten Lutheran Healthcare Center in Spring Grove and Harmony Community Healthcare in Harmony, to create a Long-Term Care Certification Program.

The grant will fund entry-level training for employees of Swanson & Youngdale of Minneapolis and Rainbow, Inc. of New Hope.

    March 07, 2016 - Aircraft manufacturer Cirrus is building a $12.7 million painting and finishing facility that will bring 150 new jobs to Duluth. Company officials plan to build the 68,000-square-foot facility in the Duluth Airport Industrial Park, near the company’s existing operations.

    February 26, 2016 - The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has awarded a $145,320 grant from the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Program to the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) to develop wellness and resiliency training for employees of Essentia Health, headquartered in Duluth. The grant will fund advanced training for over 4,000 employees.

    January 21, 2016 - Minnesota employers added 9,100 jobs in December, according to seasonally adjusted figures released today by DEED. The state unemployment rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 3.5 percent in December from a revised rate of 3.6 percent in November. The U.S. unemployment rate in December was 5 percent.

    January 15, 2016 - A metro-area manufacturing consortium that wants to upgrade the technical skills of its workers will benefit from a $446,090 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant awarded to Hennepin Technical College. The grant will train 84 new and current manufacturing employees, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
