Job Description: The city of Keewatin is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list of
qualified applicants for an anticipated opening for a full-time police officer position. This opening is anticipated to be in the fall of 2025.

 

The Keewatin Police Department is a community focused police department that focuses on keeping the city a quiet, safe, drug-free community. The department currently has three full-time officers (including the chief) and two part-time officers.

 

The chief works M-F dayshift and the patrol officers work four on/four off 10-hour evening shifts. Officers also receive an additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked after 5PM.

 

Also included are excellent medical and dental benefits with an 80/20 employer/employee split, a generous yearly employer HSA contribution, life insurance, sick leave, 80 vacation hours after one year, comp time, 14 paid holidays, $600 annual uniform allowance and numerous overtime opportunities from vacation fill-in, special events and TZD shifts.

 

Minimum qualifications: POST licensed or eligible to be POST licensed by date of hire. Ability to successfully complete an oral interview, background investigation, phycological exam, physical exam and drug evaluation.
