Lateral officers are currently employed as a police officers, sheriff's deputies, or state police.Β They have enough experience with another agency to complete an expedited RPD training program.Β Although the amount of experience necessary may be subjective, the desired experience level will be assessed by Rochester Police to determine if lateral entry is appropriate.Β Lateral officer salary will be based on their individual experience, job knowledge, and level of skill.
