Job Description: Responsible for the safety and well-being of all residents in Brown County.

Patrol the County, enforce traffic laws, and maintain positive law enforcement presence throughout the county.

Prevent and detect commission of crimes - constantly being aware of potential crimes/public safety hazards and taking appropriate action as needed.

Answer all calls and complaints, investigate crimes, motor vehicle accidents, boat, snowmobile, ATV, farm, and industrial accidents; collect evidence, prepare reports, prioritize assignments.

Assist local police, fire, and ambulance services.

Drug recognition and interdiction.

Administer first aid.

Serve court orders, documents, arrest and/or search warrants.

Boat and snowmobile patrol. ERU team.

Transport criminals and mentally ill persons.

Predatory Offender Registration Checks.

Other duties as assigned or apparent:

• Attends trainings and meetings.

• Maintains equipment and patrol vehicles.

Education:

Associate Degree in Law Enforcement and P.O.S.T. license eligible.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a peace officer, reserve peace officer, correctional officer,military police, 9-1-1 dispatcher, security officer, or in a detox/detention facility is preferred.

Pay Rate: Entry Hourly Wage Range: $30.43-$34.12, DOQ.  Position has a full earning potential of up to $42.88/hr, DOQ.
