Under the direction of the Chief Deputy, the Sergeant is responsible for supervising law enforcement activities. Essential functions of the job include: supervising licensed peace officers; assisting in developing and recommending policies and procedures for the Sheriff; performing all law enforcement functions and coordinating investigative activities; addressing complaints; and monitoring and overseeing the Boat and Water program.
Mahnomen County offers hiring bonuses of $1500.00 after six months and an additional $1500.00 after one year of service.

Minimum qualifications: Five (5) years experience in law enforcement and an associate degree in Criminal Justice.
