Position Overview:
Duties include enforcing laws and preventing crimes; control traffic flow; enforce state and local traffic regulations; issue citations; participate in and conduct a variety of criminal investigations; make arrests; provide assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs; and perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support law enforcement services and activities.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 - $37.00
* Benefits:
o Sick leave and vacation accrual starting on first day of hire
o 100% city-paid health and dental insurance for employee
o 60% city-paid health and dental insurance for family
o 12 paid holidays, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and one floating holiday
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree in law enforcement
* Full-time Minnesota POST licensure
* Valid Minnesota driver's license
* Ability to pass a criminal history investigation, background check, department agility test, and psychological evaluation
* Must be POST eligible upon hire
