On June 22, 2015, the Edge Center for the Arts was awarded the Sally Award. The award is presented by the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul. The award is given to individuals and institutions that have enriched the lives of people in Minnesota through dedication to the arts and arts education.

The Sally Award acknowledges contribution in five areas: Vision, Initiative, Commitment, Education, and Arts Access. The Edge Center for the Arts was honored with the Arts Access Award for its efforts to broaden and diversity audiences in the arts and inspire Minnesota residents to become more involved in the arts.

Located in the rural city of Bigfork, the Edge Center for the Arts has been providing diverse entertainment to the community for 10 years. The Sally Award is an encouragement to the Edge Center for the Arts, because it means the centers' hard work and enthusiasm for the arts is being appreciated, according to Karen Ferlaak, a member of the Edge Center board of directors.

Ferlaak says the award means that "the Edge Center for the Arts is receiving recognition for all the work that it has been able to accomplish in such a remote area of Minnesota."

The Edge Center for the Arts is maintained by volunteers, and to them, the Sally Award is gratification for their diligence to the arts, said Ferlaak.

The Edge Center in 2015 is celebrating its 10th Anniversary.

Upcoming events include:

"Tim Kliphuis with Sam Miltich and the Clearwater Hot Club" - July 2

"Art on the Edge" 11th annual juried art exhibition - July 2-July 25

"Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr." - July 17-19
