Adopted Permanent Rules Relating to Peace Officer Standards of Conduct
The rules proposed and published in State Register, Volume 48, Number 38, pages 875-877, March 18, 2024 (48 SR 875), are adopted as proposed. The official adoption notice, published on December 9, 2024, and the rule draft can be accessed on the State Register’s website via the following link: https://mn.gov/admin/bookstore/register.jsp
Summary
The adopted permanent rule re-implements a clause that was inadvertently omitted from rule during the R4641 rulemaking process. The adopted rule makes “failure to comply with any order issued by the Board” a standards of conduct violation under Minnesota Rule 6700.1600, item F. Prior to 2023, this provision was in rule for nearly 26 years.
