Job Description: The Paynesville Police Department is seeking a hardworking, dedicated, value-adding applicant who is looking to make a difference and join our growing community. The officer in this position would perform a wide variety of responsibilities from teaching law related educational courses in conjunction with teachers on safety, police careers and criminal law. The officer is responsible for establishing a positive police presence in and around the schools, provide for a safe, secure learning environment and to bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth.

The department has put a strong emphasis on family and support of its officers. Benefits include:

•             Wellness program including access to a 24-hr. fitness center with the ability to work out on-duty, access to mental health services and more per the LELS Union Contract
•             Individualized training
•             $1.50 per hour shift differential
•             Flexible schedule
•             Prorated holiday pay

Located in Stearns County between St. Cloud and Willmar, and within 75 miles from the Twin Cities Metro Area, Paynesville has a lot to offer.  With easy access to hiking and biking trails, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, and a strong park system, the City offers a wide range of recreational opportunities.  Paynesville also has a strong local school system and a Level 4 trauma hospital offering state-of-the-art facilities.  Our community offers everything necessary for our officers to grow and thrive.
