Job Description: The Brooklyn Center Police Department is seeking experienced Police Officers to serve a vibrant, diverse community in a police agency that values professional development. Join our team if you have been a police officer for at least one year and have a current POST license in good standing. Eligible officers will receive compensation based on the LELS Local 82 pay scale, reflecting their prior sworn law enforcement experience.
Lateral candidates will receive a $10,000 hiring incentive, paid in two installments:
• $5,000 upon hiring
• $5,000 after successful completion of field training
The pay range for lateral patrol officers is $40.69 - $59.01 per hour (see website for breakdown). In addition, 40 hours of vacation and 40 hours of sick leave will be frontloaded upon hire. Prior law enforcement experience will count toward the specific time/experience requirements for specialty positions, promotions, and longevity pay.
