The salary range for 2026 is $76,196 - $90,132, with top salary paid after three (3) years. The salary range for 2027 is $82,602 - $96,956.
The City of Crookston is offering the following hiring incentives:
● $3000 hiring incentive ($1500 paid with first paycheck; $1500 paid after successful completion of field training)
● Lateral pay up to top patrol depending on experience
● Pre-hire vacation hours negotiable for lateral officer candidates
● Additional housing/family incentives available
Additional benefits include, but not limited to:
● Three (3) years to top-step salary
● $1.25 per hour shift differential pay
● $1144 per month toward insurance premiums
● FTO Incentive Pay
● Free single dental and vision plans
● 80 hours of holiday pay per year including premium holiday pay
● All uniforms, duty gear, and equipment provided at no expense for new officers
● $800 yearly uniform allowance
● $25,000 life insurance policy
There are opportunities to work SWAT, Bomb Squad, Crisis Negotiations, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, TZD Enforcement, Drug Task Force Officer, Field Training Officer, Firearms, Taser, and Defensive Tactics instructor.
