Job Description: The City of Onamia, known as the “Gateway to Mille Lacs,” is accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer to join the Onamia Police Department. Both new officers and lateral transfers are encouraged to apply. The primary responsibilities include patrolling city streets, enforcing laws and ordinances, and conducting investigations. Must be licensed by the Minnesota POST Board, or eligible for licensure by the date of employment. Must successfully pass a medical exam, psychological evaluation, and background check as a condition of employment. Benefits include competitive local wages, vision insurance and dental and fully paid family health insurance. Flexible rotation with a scheduled 5-day weekend every other week.
