The Redwood County Sheriffs Office employs 17 full time peace officers providing coverage to a community of over 15,000 people stretching over approximately 880 square miles. The RCSO provides law enforcement services to 16 communities within Redwood County. Our agency offers a variety of job assignments. Current positions include: Patrol Sergeants (2), Investigators (2), Patrol Deputies (including two K9 deputies), and a Court Security Deputy. We offer numerous opportunities for career enhancement and a variety of assignments such as: Drug Task Force, Field Training Instructor, ALICE instruction, Emergency Response Unit (SWAT), Firearms Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Youth Firearms Safety Instructor, Taser Instructor, Drone Operator, Participation in the Towards Zero Deaths program, and Boat Operations.
Deputies are provided a take home squad and work rotating shifts.
