This includes highly trained staff assigned to accompany law enforcement on crisis assignments, facilitate mental health trainings for staff and community members, and staff behavioral health consultations.
Our Deputy Sheriffs work 12-hour shifts, providing for a 5-day weekend every other week when fully staffed. Special assignments include SWAT, K-9, Drug Task Force, Boat and Water, Domestic Violence/Drug Court surveillance deputy and Peer Support.
We offer a great benefit package including uniforms, take-home squad, sick leave, vacation leave, floating holidays, paid holidays, and more. Staff will receive 200 hours of paid time off within the first year of employment, excluding holidays! The health insurance package has up to 100% of the single health insurance premium for full-time employees electing single coverage, and $1,650 per month towards family coverage. County contributions for single coverage also offers up to $2,750/year to a Health Savings Account or VEBA!
