Job Description: The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking applicants for Deputy Sheriff, fulltime. We are looking for motivated individuals who possess good problem-solving skills, who can communicate effectively, and who will work with our team and our partners to deliver courteous, professional, and effective law enforcement services to our county residents and those needing our assistance. Duties include general patrol, criminal and traffic crash investigations, court security, booking and transporting prisoners, emergency medical response and other law enforcement and public safety tasks as directed. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, possess no disqualifying criminal offenses, must be POST certified or POST license eligible at time of hire, and must pass an extensive pre-employment background investigation, psychological and physical examinations, and an in-person interview prior to receiving an offer of employment.
The 2026 wage scale for this position is $32.35 - $39.10/hour with step increases annually through year 9 and wage rates increase in 2027. PERA Retirement. Employees are eligible for health and dental insurance benefits through Lincoln County employee's insurance plan. The employer provides uniforms, law enforcement equipment, body armor, and take-home squads. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
