Job Description: The Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department is seeking recruit and experienced Police Officers. POST eligible candidates and licensed Officers with a drive for fast paced activity in a rural setting with metro call volume are encouraged to apply. Lateral entry is welcome with compensation based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package, PERA, 26 paid holidays annually, and overtime. 14 week FTO program for new recruit Officers, Lateral entry Officers may have reduced FTO program based on overall experience.
Candidates receive initial issue uniforms and weapons, annual uniform allowance of $1,000 - $1,250 depending on assignment. Officers have the opportunity to shift bid bi-annually for shifts in our Mille Lacs and Pine County jurisdictions. Specialty assignments range from Instructor(s), K9 Handler, FTO, SWAT, and UAV Operator. Mille Lacs Tribal Police has a take home squad program, state of the art equipment, and many training opportunities. Officers have the opportunity for contracted detail events.
