The Buffalo Police Department consists of 19 sworn officers and serves a population of approximately 18,000 residents.
Patrol officers work a rotating schedule of 10.5-hour shifts, 4-days on and 4-days off.
Lateral entry will be considered. Field training period may be adjusted for experienced candidates.
We believe we are the perfect size department-not too big and not too small. Calls for service are steady, but officers have discretionary time to concentrate on traffic enforcement and other community interaction.
