Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship, a valid Minnesota driver's license or ability to obtain one, a minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed police officer, a current police officer license with the Minnesota POST Board or be eligible to be licensed by date of hire.
Lateral incentives include credit for years of service towards starting salary, vacation accrual rates and longevity awards. Lateral hires are also eligible to apply for additional pay incentives and other specialty assignments including, investigations, K-9, COP, SRO, violent offender task force, Tactical Response Team, and others upon completion of the probationary period. We offer competitive benefits including medical, dental, paid vacation, 60 days of paid sick leave per year, a health care savings plan which receives an additional $12,000 after 3 years of service.
