10. We Need Diverse Newsrooms

[Audience Member] I am 17 years old.

What advice do you have for someone like me who wants to be an author and share our stories?

[Stacy Nogy – KARE 11] I just want to say one thing to him: Newsrooms need you.

You know, we have a responsibility to create as diverse a newsroom as we can, and we need to do a better job, and someone like you that understands and has the perspective would bring a lot to a newsroom.
