Dr. William Bronston: Ed vs. the Airline Industry
Dr. William Bronston: I mean he fought the airplane industry to the death in order to let him fly. They didn't want to let him fly. They didn't want to put his wheelchair on the plane. They didn't want to put his breathing machine on the plane. And he couldn't move around without that breathing machine because he had to have air between each breath, you know between each sentence.
You know and they were not about to let this happen to their industry. I mean, God knows what they thought that this would do to them, their access situation.
Look at now what we have, you know, in society. Look at the expectations. You walk outside, if you don't see people whizzing around in wheelchairs, something's wrong. It's becoming, an aspect of what makes our society incredible. I mean look at when you go to Cal Expo, you go to the State Fair, the place is jammed with people who are only there because of Ed. Only there because of Ed.
