We are sorry to announce the retirement of Paul Doyle, Deputy Ombudsman for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities (OMHDD). His last day will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019.
Paul started with the OMHDD as Director of Regulatory and Legislative Services in July of 1995. In this position he managed the agency budget, oversaw the administrative activities of the OMHDD and followed legislation effecting the clients of the OMHDD.
In 2010, the Ombudsman decided to once again have a Deputy Ombudsman to oversee all office functions and to fill in for the Ombudsman as needed. In this capacity Paul also had oversight of the Client Services section of the OMHDD, in addition to his previous functions. Paul has been a very integral part of the OMHDD and will be greatly missed by the staff. He was always working to improve services for the clients of the office and keeping the office running smoothly. We wish him the very best in his retirement.
The OMHDD is excited to announce that Lisa Harrison-Hadler has accepted the position of Deputy Ombudsman beginning Wednesday December 11, 2019. Lisa came to the OMHDD from the Southeastern MN Center for Independent Living (SEMCIL) where she was the Community Advocacy/Development Manager. One of Lisa’s accomplishments at SEMCIL was to create and implement an advocacy program that SEMCIL still operates today, along with other management functions.
Lisa started with the OMHDD in August 2012, as the Regional Ombudsman for Southeastern MN. Lisa has been a strong voice for the needs of the clients in her Region. She has also participated in a number of regional and statewide workgroups representing the OMHDD.
Most recently, Lisa has been working with the Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman in following legislation that directly effects the rights of, and services to, clients of the OMHDD. Lisa has been very active in reviewing legislation to determine how it will affect our clients. We are looking forward to her helping move the OMHDD forward in the years to come.
