Elmquist to lead Olmstead office

Aisha Elmquist has been appointed as the new director of the Minnesota Olmstead Implementation Office (OIO). With an extensive background in serving people with disabilities, Elmquist previously held the position of deputy Ombudsman for Long-Term Care.
She brings experience as an attorney for Fox Rothschild LLP, a U.S. District Court Judge John R. Tunheim clerk, and a staff attorney at Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid. Elmquist has a history of advocating for the civil rights of individuals with disabilities, including those under Olmstead v. L.C. Her role comes at a critical time as the state initiates the development of the next Olmstead Plan, focusing on promoting the integration of people with disabilities in various aspects of life.
